Visual Hierarchy

Définition

Visual Hierarchy is the art of organizing interface elements by order of importance in order to guide the user’s eye intentionally. It relies on variables such as size, color, contrast, typography, and positioning. The goal is to immediately answer a simple question: “Where should I look first?”

A clear visual hierarchy helps structure reading patterns (often following F- or Z-shaped scanning models) and highlights key calls to action (CTAs) that drive conversion, preventing users from feeling lost in a flat, uniform mass of information.
