White Space
Définition
White Space (or negative space) refers to the empty areas between elements in an interface. Contrary to common assumptions, it is not a “waste of space,” but an active and strategic design tool. It helps create breathing room, reduces cognitive load, and establishes clear logical groupings between pieces of information. By isolating an element with space, it naturally gains more importance and improves overall readability. A well-used white space is often what separates a cluttered, amateur design from a refined and intuitive interface. (We all tend to be a little afraid of empty space when we’re just starting out.)
